Historical Enquiries
The purpose of "The Chronicles of Clan Colquhoun" is to make available the history of the families who make up the Clan, and the events which they lived through. Of course it is impossible to cover every family and event in the articles and I frequently receive mails from those who wish to have further information.
I have set up this enquiry page so that you may email your questions and I will try to answer as best I can. Please bear in mind that my knowledge of Colquhouns and their septs is mainly confined to the British Isles and those that served the Empire. Whilst I have some knowledge of those who went to the U.S.A., as I have less access to records there, my knowledge of the homelands and our history is much wider.
Clan names are Colquhoun, (& variants Calhoun,Colhoun, Cahoon), Cowan, McCowan, Kilpatrick, Kirkpatrick, Ingram, McLintock, McClintock. Many other families, whose surname was none of the foregoing, lived on the Colquhoun lands around Luss and shared their history, so the breadth is wide.......
If you have any questions, email them to me, James Pearson, Clan Historian at the address below and I will assist where possible:
